Founded in 1896, the Walker reputation for quality and service is recognized by companies throughout England. Importing exceptional wood direct from Scandinavia and the Baltic via the inland Port at Wisbech. Operating as a division of J 0 Walker Plc timber merchants based in Leicester, Coventry, and Cambridgeshire until trading independently as Walker Nene and specializing in traditional and reputable roof trusses.
Operating from the original Wisbech factory and large timber storage yard, with our long service and highly experienced staff, you can be sure of a traditional and first-class level of customer service that is professional and knowledgeable.
At Walker Nene, we specialize in the design, development, manufacture, and distribution of trussed rafters and metal web floor joists. We also supply timber, Egger flooring, Kayflow guttering rainwater systems, alongside Swish fascias and soffit products.
We supply builders' merchants, DIY stores, and private developers from across the Midlands and East Anglia area and to London, and beyond if required. For decades we have been a leading manufacturer and supplier of roof trusses and metal web joists, offering a quality of service and customer satisfaction.
We are also members of the RHA (Road Haulage Association) and have our own trucks and trailers for delivery which enables us to deliver safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
Founder Members of TRADA Walkers were founder members of TRADA the Timber Research & Development Association and are Certified by PEFC Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. Working in partnership with the ITW construction products key manufacturers of software and nail plates for the production of roof trusses and open web floor joists, we use the ITW and Gang Nail international software system to calculate all truss and open web beam specifications to the highest but most economical standards.
